About Me

I spent the first two decades of my life dreaming about making things. My passion was learning about art, hearing artist’s stories and trying to help others make sense of the world through art. I was convinced my love for fine art would lead me to curate spaces. I wanted to make things with my friends, and I wanted the world to be changed by it. Almost 10 years later, I am making things with friends and helping change the world, but it’s not what I thought it’d look like. Life is funny that way.

I spent the first 5 years after college working on a design team as a project manager. Those years were filled with brainstorming sessions, meetings, many email exchanges with local printers and vendors, and endless hours ensuring that an idea became a real physical product to be utilized and enjoyed. I relished meticulously planning out every step of the process for my team and me, but I was left wanting after seeing my coworkers sit behind a computer and create day in and day out. I could deny it no longer — I wanted to make too.

So I left my career in project management to build things on the web. I enrolled in a full time bootcamp and jumped head first into the world of software development. The only knowledge I had of code before the bootcamp were the HTML and CSS tutorials I nervously studied before the first day. I honestly had no idea if I would enjoy coding… but thankfully, I loved it. I am now a full stack software engineer with the same obsession for organization, project management, and creating things to make the world a better place. I am honored to work on a team with my friends, and I can only hope to continue to learn and grow and make things. I consider my code an art form, and I aim to write every line with care and consideration for future developers and the end user.
